Henry Post

Crohn's disease is where the immune system attacks the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Currently there is no cure. The disease is managed by medicines. Henry became severely ill at 11 years old. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at Albany Medical. As Henry’s case was complex Albany worked in conjunction with North Shore Jewish Children's Hospital for treatment plans. Medicines are limited and with little success Henry's care was transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital. We travel every four months to Boston. He has a team of GI, hematology, surgical and immunology doctors. He is on weekly medications and receives iron infusions every 6 months. Most recently he had a surgical procedure in hopes that, in combination with his medicines, he can achieve remission.
