Ainsley's Angels

Ainsley's Angels is a national organization with local ambassadorships that promotes the inclusion of the special needs community. This is accomplished by providing chariots (running wheelchairs), runners, and other support. Ainsley's Angels Of Central New York is currently being started in the Oneonta area with hopes of being up and running in the spring of 2017. Their web site is AinsleysAngels.org.

We became involved with this organization because our daughter Kaitlyn wanted to find an activity that she could participate in with her brother Connor despite his being in a wheelchair. It enables Connor to not only be outdoors which he loves, it allows him to spend time with his sister doing an activity that she is involved with, and to make new friends along the way! With the help of Ainsley's Angels and his sister, Connor completed his first 5K in November.

Connor was a Polar Bear Jump recipient in 2010 after being in a car accident and suffering a traumatic Brain Injury in April of 2009.  Connor was hospitalized for 3 months in Albany and 4 months in Boston. Connor has had 10 surgeries since the accident but continues to make progress. He is currently a day student at Springbrook where he is learning to communicate with eye blinks and eye gaze. Connor is a remarkable boy with a great sense of humor! Our entire family is very grateful for all of the love and support from the Polar Bear family. Connors uncle, David Hotaling , has been jumping since 2010, our son Brandon has been jumping since 2011 and our daughter Kaitlyn will be jumping for the first time this year!!
